Larry Brooks, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He received his Ph.D. from California School of Professional Psychology in Berkeley in 1981 and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Reiss-Davis Child Study Center. From 2002-2008 he was an advanced student in the psychoanalytic psychotherapy program at the Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis Los Angeles. In 2012 he completed a 6-month intensive training in Dream Tending at Pacifica Graduate Institute with Stephen Aizenstat, Ph.D.

He is in full-time private practice in Glendale where he works with older adolescents, adults, and couples. In addition to his psychotherapy practice, he leads a weekly consultation group for post licensed mental health professionals and conducts workshops in psychotherapy supervision.

He was the editor of the Glendale Area Mental Health Professionals Association Newsletter, a local multidisciplinary association he co-founded. He is also the founder of Professional Development Programs, a private company that provides continuing education workshops to mental health professionals. He is currently the chair of the Program and Continuing Education Committee for the San Gabriel Psychological Association.
